Tuesday 25th August 2009 - Half-Moon Cay

Half-Moon Cay is a private island in the Bahamas. It is owned by the Bahamas Government, but leased to Royal Carribean as a cruise destination. The island is 5 miles long and 2 miles wide, but is almosy hollow, with a huge lagoon in the center.

We spent our day here on the beach, enjoying warm seas, white sands, and waterslides. Lunch was listed as "beach barbecue", but was actually a short walk inland, where there is a big cook house and a series of covered dining areas amongst the palms and sea-oat trees. All in all, a fun, relaxing day.Oh, and if you look on a map, you won't find Half-Moon Cay. On the charts it is properly named Little San Salvador!
